Keeping It Real…. Estate: Sy.M.Ba Edition

Hey y’all! So I’ve recently started my real estate journey at the start of the new year and I wanted to create a segment that highlights some of the things I’m learning along the way.

To give a little background on my journey, in moving back to Chicago buying property was priority on my to do list. At first I wanted to purchase a single family home but in speaking with my partner we both felt it be beneficial to do a multi family unit as an investment property now and later invest in our forever single family home.

Just recently, we started the process and boy is it frustrating! All the initial paperwork, the viewings, and how competitive it is gets very overwhelming at times so I wanted to start this segment of my blog as a safe space to learn and grow from one another. Each post will be about a tip I’ve learned on my journey that I hope someone can use to make their journey a bit more easier.

This segment will be the overall evolution of my real estate journey. Since I’m just beginning I’m hoping to share with you all the initial steps I took to finding a property, to the steps it took to secure it, then evolving to the steps I would be taking to maintain it (CLAIMING IT). So if you are a first time home buyer or just want to learn more about the multi unit buying process this segment is for you!

Disclaimer: I am not an expert at all. I am just sharing with you some tips I’ve picked up along the way that no one told me but I feel would be beneficial for first time home buyers or people curious to purchase their first investment property.
