Item of the Week: Gucci Double G-Buckle Calfskin Belt

Hey y’all! So I wanted to take some time to post about my latest obsession, the Gucci Double G-Buckle Calfskin Belt. I’ve literally been trying to get this belt for the past 4 months and I finally was able to find my size. In this post, I’ll tell you the deets on the belt as well as my overall thoughts.

Ok, so full disclosure, I’m not a designer bih. I’m very much so a H&M and Zara type of girl. I actually hate spending a lot of money on clothes because let’s be honest… I have more important things that money can be going towards. This belt though, I felt was an exception! LOL.

I liked the belt because it’s a nice subtle flex and a great addition to the timeless high waist jean or sweater dress look. At first, I thought it would be too small but I was gladly mistaken. I didn’t realize how perfect the size was until I compared the smaller belt to the bigger one and it was way to big for my small frame.

So initial thoughts… what all can I do with this almost $400 belt?! Y’all no lie I’ve told my friends I’m literally wearing it everyday because who spends this much money on a belt?! Clearly I do but the belt is so versatile and I feel worth every penny.

As far as sizes go I strongly encourage if your like me and don’t have a closet full of designer belts to actually go into the store to size yourself. I’ve purchased and returned this belt 3 times before I found the right size. I started with a 65 because I typically always wear the smallest size in everything. I soon came to the realization that it was not the case in reference to European sizes. I then went in the store and spoke to a rep in the accessory department at Nordstrom. I tried on a 70 and it fit me too perfect. I say too perfect because with a belt like this you want to be able to get your wears out of it and with the 70 I was already in the middle belt hole. She told me a 75 would be perfect but me being me still bought the 70 only to realize she was right and returned it for a 75. To put sizes in perspective for you all in case you are wondering about what your European size would be, I typically wear a 2 in H&M and a 24 in Levi’s.

Overall, 10/10 recommend! This belt is truly timeless and can dress about any outfit up. It is an investment but if you have it to splurge I say go for it, you will not be disappointed! Helpful tip, if you like me want to get it on a charge card, Nordstrom sells the belt in stores (sizes vary) and online. I got mines online but literally checked back daily to see when they would add my size. They frequently had 90 and 100 but rarely had the other sizes. They also sell out fast so act quickly!!
